Just wondered how everyone is, in these times of worry and anxiety. I thought I would write a short meditation exercise.
Sit in a comfortable chair, in a place that will allow light and sun on your face. With shoes off, place both feet on the floor and hands in your lap. Close your eyes, and take a deep breath, allowing your stomach to move out, hold for a few seconds, then let the breath out, and suck in your stomach, hold for a few seconds. Imagine your self sitting on a bench overlooking the pond, with the hills in the distance, there are no other people around and no one will be able to enter into your space, you are safe. Keep breathing slowly and deeply. Imagine the soft grass beneath your feet, the sun on your face, the gentle breeze on your skin. You can hear the gentle bird songs in the trees surrounding the pond and the lambs in the next door field as they call to their mothers, they are safe and happy and joyful. Feel this wonderful energy, feel the energy of the lambs and the birds. Feel how safe they feel. Feel how joyful they are. Keep breathing slowly and deeply. Feel the energy of the sun, it is here all day, it will go away tonight and return daily, every day it will return. Take a deep breath We will have darkness but the sun will rise, tomorrow the sun will appear and shine on every person in the world. It will shine on us all. Keep breathing deeply and enjoy the pictures in your head, the sun on your face. Open your eyes when you feel ready.
