| These actions to make Knightcote Farm Cottages and Arbor Holiday Cottages more sustainable have taken place in a wider context of environmental improvements for wildlife. |

The cottages are situated in the middle of the New House Farm which participates in the, Environmental Stewardship scheme. |

Planned program of new tree planting. |

Establishing a meadow management plan for the meadow pasture with a neighbouring farmer who cuts it for hay. |

Encouraging bird life, with feeders, not cutting hedges at nesting time, growing 6 meter hedge row buffer strips with grass and wild flowers, erecting nesting boxes, and all year-round feeding of birds around the cottages and the farm. |

Encouraging other wildlife through activities such as, planting insect-attractive plants in the garden and the farm, creating dead wood piles, preserving the habitat of our badgers and leaving dead trees standing. |

Preserving the habitat of the tree sparrow which is closely monitored by the RSPB. |

| We have now joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme which provides accreditation and encouragement for tourism businesses to reduce the environmental impact of their activities. If you support our aims you can: |
